We had a last-minute cancellation turn into a walk-on win this past weekend—our second walk-on trip of the season, and it couldn't have gone any smoother! Walk-ons can be a bit like assembling a fishing dream team out of thin air, but the moment we put the word out, the response was instant. Within minutes, we had our crew locked in, lines rigged, and were able to tell our original customer, "Trip's still on—let's go fishing!"
Current Lake Erie Walleye Bite Report
Lake Erie's walleye bite has been hot lately, and this trip delivered in a big way. The waves came to play early on, but by the time we boxed our four-man limit, the lake had laid down to glass. Couldn't have asked for better timing or better folks on the boat!
The momentum didn't stop there. We rolled into Monday with a group from out of town whose original trip had fallen through—lucky for them (and us), we were able to get them out on the water. The wind had shifted and the fish moved, but after a little searching, we locked in on the bite and pulled in some solid walleye.
Solo Angler Success Story
Then came a solo angler from New York, just passing through on his way to the U.P. and curious about this "Lake Erie walleye" thing. One trip later—he's a believer! With just one customer aboard, the captain and first mate even got to sneak in a few rare chances to reel! We made a longer run, dropped lines on some fresh waypoints, and BOOM: bigger, meaner, hungry walleye! We filled the box with 18 fish by 9 a.m., including a few measuring up to 24 inches.

It's shaping up to be one heck of a June, come join us before the bite cools down (spoiler: it's not slowing anytime soon)!
