This week we had the pleasure of teaming up with another awesome local captain to host a corporate event out on Lake Erie. Since our license allows for a maximum of six passengers plus a captain and first mate, we often collaborate to make sure bigger groups can still enjoy a full-on walleye experience, and this trip was one for the books.

From Hard Hats to Fishing Hats: Construction Trades Take on Lake Erie

The group was from the construction trades, and let's just say: they came ready to build some memories (and friendly rivalries). Meeting new people on the water is always a roll of the dice, but we hit the jackpot with this crew. Great attitudes, great energy, and a competitive streak that made things extra entertaining.

65 Walleye Between Two Boats: A Day of Epic Catches

Between both boats, we stacked 65 walleye in the coolers – and that doesn't even count the fish that almost made it in. There were legendary tales of last-second escapes at the back of the boat, and yes… someone may or may not have tossed a legal walleye back overboard thanks to a classic mix-up. (Don't worry—we'll let it slide this time.)

The Competition Heats Up: Boat vs. Boat Rivalry

The back-and-forth boat banter was non-stop:

  • Who caught the first fish

  • Who caught the biggest

  • Who brought in the smallest

  • Who's claiming a rematch next time

There were plenty of laughs, a few creative fishing techniques, and enough inside jokes to carry this group through their next jobsite lunch break.

Why Corporate Fishing Events Create Lasting Memories

At the end of the day, it's trips like these that remind us why we do what we do. Good people, good fishing, and a whole lot of fun. Lake Erie never disappoints – and neither did this crew.
