Non-Stop Morning Action: When Kings Attack at Dawn

Lines started peeling and rods were bending hard just before sunrise, things really kicked off around 6:00 AM and it was full throttle action until about 9:30 AM. Non-stop hookups, lots of cheers, and some serious fish fighting made for an adrenaline-packed morning. If you blinked, you missed a bite!

The afternoon had a nice, steady rhythm, and just when we thought it might taper off, the evening bite exploded around 7:30 PM and stayed hot until 10:00 PM. Doubles, triples, and some drag-screaming runs kept the excitement going well into sunset.

The Afternoon Bite That Shocked Everyone

The first diver hit of the afternoon? Let's just say it sent shockwaves through the boat. The rod on the starboard side bent over like it owed someone money and started screaming drag like it was possessed. Total chaos.

The crew just stood there for a split second, mouths open, eyes wide—then BOOM, the whole boat erupted with laughter. One guy yells, "Holy ****! I thought this was gonna be chill!"

Yeah… no. We had to break it to him: there's absolutely nothing "chill" about a salmon hammering your gear when the bite is hot. This isn't a tea party, it's full-on rod-ripping, drag-melting madness. Welcome to the show!

Perfect Lake Michigan Fishing Weather

Mother Nature was on our side too, perfect fishing weather! We had a light breeze and a mellow chop, just enough to keep things interesting. Mornings called for hoodies and long sleeves, but once the sun cracked over the horizon, layers started coming off fast. By midday, it was all about shorts, t-shirts, and sunblock.

Today's crew was a great mix, some seasoned salmon slayers and a few first-timers who got to experience the reel thrill of that first big hit. Smiles, high-fives, and plenty of stories to go around. Definitely one for the books! Check out more amazing catches in our photo gallery!

• Cruised south out of the harbor and set up for a north troll

• 2.2-2.4 was a productive trolling speed with the current

• 100-120 feet of water targeting 20-60 feet down in the water column
