We had the pleasure of welcoming back a group that has been fishing with us for quite a long time, and it's always a highlight of our season to get them back on the water. There's something special about spending time with familiar faces-catching fish, sharing laughs, and revisiting the stories and memories we've made together over the years. It was a day filled with camaraderie and plenty of action on Lake Erie, and the walleye certainly didn't disappoint!

The weather was cooperative, the lake was in great shape, and the bite was steady throughout the trip. This crew knew just what to do, and the rods were bending not long after we got lines in the water. It's always a good time when old friends come together for another great day of fishing, and this trip reminded us why we love what we do out here.

Morning Launch and Initial Strategy

We kicked off the day cruising out of Bolles Harbor under clear skies and high hopes. After a quick run south, we spotted some promising marks and dropped lines in 16 feet of water. The Bandits went out- 35 to 40 feet back off the big boards- and if it was white, it was working! White Bandits have been on fire lately, and today was no different.

Tactical Adjustment for Better Results

The bite started off a bit slow with scattered walleye, so we worked the area hard, trolling between waypoints where we'd found success before. With about 10 solid fish in the cooler and the action cooling off, we made a move. Sliding in tighter to 12–14 feet in front of Toledo Beach, we adjusted our depths and got right along the mud line- and boom, game on!

Surprise Catch: Walleye and Coho

The fish lit up, and just when we thought it couldn't get better, one rod doubled over with something unexpected: a Coho salmon! Our group hooked into this Monroe fishing charters first Coho on Lake Erie! Walleye gold and a splash of silver- now that's a day to remember!
